New Regulations on Applying for L Visa (Visa for Tourism, Visiting Friends or Family Members in Mainland China)

 

 According to the Chinese Embassy in Sweden, from Jan 1st, 2012, new regulations on L visa (Visa for Tourism, Visiting Friends or Family Members in Mainland China) will come into effect.

 

Part І: If you are going to China for touring or visiting friend

For Swedish citizens with your Swedish Passport to apply visa

Please submit the following documents.

1. A letter of invitation issued either by your friend residing in China, which indicates the relationship between the inviter and the invitee, the purpose of this trip, and the inviter’s  contact information, i.e. resident address, mobile or home phone number. The inviter’s signature is required. or

2. A letter of invitation issued by a Chinese company(Travel Agency), which indicates the purpose of this trip, the company’s contact information i.e. office address, telephone number, etc. The company’s registration stamp and the signature from the person in charge is required as well.

 

If you do not have the letter of invitation.

Please provide ALL the following  documents:

1. Personbevis from Skatteverket (Swedish Tax Agency), and

2.Your travel plan, including your arrival and departure date, cities name, your activities in each cities etc., and

3. Round-trip flight booking record, and

4. Hotel booking reservation of the main cities.

 

For non-EU citizens, but studying, working or residing in Sweden.

Please submit the following documents

1.     A photocopy of your valid Residence Permit issued by Migrationsverket (Swedish Migration Board) valid for at least 6 months, and 

2.    Swedish ID or drive license, and

3. Letter of employment or your employment ID card from a Swedish company, and

4. All the documents mentioned in Part І for Swedish Citizens.

5. If you are studying in Sweden,please provide a registration letter as well.

6.Wtih reservations for exceptions

 

 

For EU citizens without Swedish Resident Permit.

Please submit the following documents.

1.   A photocopy of your identity documents issued by Swedish authorities, for example, Swedish ID card , Swedish driver’s license. and

2.  Letter of employment or your employment ID from a Swedish company, and

3.  All the documents mentioned in Part І for Swedish Citizens. 

4. If you are studying in Sweden, please provide a registration letter as well.

5. With reservations for exceptions

 

Please note that normally the duration of L Visa will be no more than 60 days.

 

Part II: If you are planning to China for visiting family member(s), who is employed by a company based in China or who is studying in a University in China.

Please provide the following documents.

1. A Letter of Invitation from your family member; and

2.Swedish ID or drive license, andDocuments clarifying the relationship between you and your family members, i.e. marriage certificate or familybevis, and

3. Letter of employment or your employment ID card from a Swedish company, and

4.

5. A photocopy of your family member’s resident permit issued by Chinese Authority, and

6. A photocopy of your family member’s Z-visa or X-visa

Please note that you may be eligible for applying multiple entries with longer duration of stay while the Chinese Embassy has the final decision.

Part III: For non-Swedish citizens, and temporarily traveling, visiting Sweden.

You are suggested to apply Chinese visa at the Chinese Embassy in your home country in advance.
